READINGS

Readings and performances

Want to get your writing out there before an audience? My reading events give you the opportunity to share extracts with a live audience, or, in the case of a script, see it brought to life by a director and actors.

What do reading and performance events involve?

My reading events, held periodically, give you the chance to share your work with a live audience.  Reading events typically consist of several short readings of work by different writers, enabling them to promote their work and obtain constructive criticism from real potential readers.

In the case of prose and poetry readings, you have the chance to read your work aloud to an audience yourself, or alternatively you can have it read for you by a representative or actor.   In the case of script writing, I organise rehearsed readings by actors. This provides a great opportunity to see your work come to life in the hands of a director and cast, an invaluable experience for a script writer.

Reading events can also include an opportunity for a Q&A session with the writers, allowing the audience to ask questions about the extracts they've heard.  Typically, an opportunity is given for the audience to provide written comments and feedback, too.  In all, this gives each writer an invaluable experience and useful developmental food for thought to take away.
