Writing retreats
Writing retreats provide many benefits to writers, from the inspiration of a new environment to simply time away to concentrate on your writing.
At Write Now, I organise and take part in residential writing retreats both in the UK and abroad. I work with partner organisations and venues to create inspiring and stimulating creative writing holidays for writers of all levels of experience.
What happens on a Write Now writing retreat?
My writing retreats are designed to stimulate you creatively and help you to be productive with your writing.
They provide a combination of possibilities: you have the space to practice your own writing in private; you can spend time in contact with other writers, sharing work and ideas and providing useful mutual feedback; and you have the opportunity to explore your location and its inspirational surroundings.
A range of activities will be provided, but all are optional - on a Write Now
writing retreat, you spend your time in a way that best suits your needs.
What kind of activities might a retreat include?
Activities that might be included on a Write Now
writing retreat can include:
- Writing classes, activities, challenges and workshop sessions
- Critiquing sessions
- Outings to inspirational places of interest
- Time set aside for private writing
- Social activities for attendees
As mentioned, all activities on a Write Now
writing retreat are optional, so you can attend as many or as few of them as you like. You could decide to take advantage of all of them, or you could use your time at the retreat purely as your own.
When are your retreats, and how much are they?
The cost of attending one of my writing retreats depends on its venue, location and duration.
